Vatican Radio uses the short wave facilities of Radio Canada International as well as a transmitter from its own site at Santa Maria de Galeria. The medium wave frequencies at the Santa Maria site of 1530 kHz and 1611 kHz have both used DRM for long periods during the day in the past but recently only the lower powered 1611kHz is used in DRM mode.

Vatican Radio relayed Radio 105 to North America in Mode C on short wave on a regular basis. Transmissions to Europe on short wave (Polish & German) were increased at the start of the B06 season and have continued into the A12 season.  Also during the B11 season Vatican Radio stated broadcasting to India as well as using Sackville to broadcast to North America.
